I rearranged all my furniture recently (a once or twice annual occurrence) and it changed my entire headspace. I went from spending close to zero hours per day in the living room to spending half the day there because it feels so much warmer and cozier. It's as though the rearrangement matched the season perfectly. The couch now sits in front of the living room windows--perfect for sitting still and looking out at trees changing color, cloud formations in the sky, a brilliant sunset, and homes across the way full of life and activity. A corner of the living room just beneath the window has a comfortable chair for reading and an analog radio on the table next to it. It just feels right for this season of coming back inside.
